Meet Our Founder
At the heart of our work is a belief that healing happens when the whole person is supported. Founder Jose M. Viruet, LCPC, brings a holistic vision to care—integrating counseling, movement, nutrition, and other healing practices to promote lasting wellness.
With over 20 years of experience, Jose works with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating complex mental and behavioral health challenges. As a bilingual clinician licensed in Illinois, he is deeply committed to providing accessible, culturally responsive care that honors each individual’s unique background and experiences.
Jose is trained in a range of evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, trauma-informed care, group therapy, substance use treatment, the Transition-to-Independence Process (TIP) model, and crisis de-escalation. His experience spans residential and inpatient settings, community-based work, and integrated healthcare environments—allowing him to support clients across all levels of need.
Through a compassionate, person-centered approach, Jose empowers clients to build resilience, develop practical tools, and move toward healing, balance, and independence.

When I decided to become a therapist, I envisioned having the privilege of walking with people on their journey to reach their wellness goals. I want people to feel seen, respected, and heard. I am a second generation Latina that offers bilingual and bicultural patient centered care, using a trauma informed, solution focused approach. Since 2014, I've worked in various therapeutic settings, working with at-risk youth, providing integrated behavioral health care, and working with parents using components of the Strengthening Families curriculum. I look forward to supporting you in your journey, reaching your goals, and living a fulfilled life.

Being a therapist is a privilege and an honor to have the ability to hold space for others as well as help them process and understand themselves better. As a client centered, solution focused therapist I like to focus on people's strengths to promote growth and encourage change. I am a bilingual, bicultural Latina, with specialized training in group therapy, grief counseling, crisis intervention & de-escalation, motivational interviewing, LGBTQIA+ (gender affirming care), and forensic psychology. I have over 9 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults. I have experience working in a variety of clinical settings such as: community mental health/outpatient care, mental health courts, inpatient hospitals, and medical settings. I welcome the opportunity to walk with clients in their life's journey. To work alongside them to grow and learn to better understand themselves.

Connection, a true sense of belonging, has been one of the driving forces behind my work in mental health. Whether within your community or in your relationship with yourself, the desire to feel seen, understood, and connected is something we all share. It is truly a privilege to walk alongside you and support you right where you are.
As a first-generation Latina, I have had the opportunity to support individuals from youth through midlife across diverse settings and communities. These experiences have shaped my belief that culturally responsive care isn’t optional; it’s essential. I value creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood.
I look forward to connecting with you and being part of your journey as you Thrive.

The first session is designed to help us get to know each other, talk about what brings you to therapy, and begin building a foundation for our work together. Here’s what you can expect: understanding the therapeutic process, developing our goals, and addressing confidentiality.
A standard therapy session typically lasts 50 minutes, which is commonly referred to as a “therapy hour.” However, the length of sessions can vary depending on your individual needs, the nature of your symptoms, and the type of treatment we’re doing.
If you're unsure whether therapy is the right fit for your situation, feel free to reach out for a consultation, we can explore your needs together.
Once a week is the most common starting point, as it allows us to build momentum and develop a strong therapeutic relationship. However, the frequency of sessions can vary depending on your specific needs, goals, and the issues you're working through.
Some clients may benefit from twice-weekly sessions during more intense periods, while others may move to biweekly or monthly check-ins as they make progress. We'll work together to find a pace that feels right for you and can adjust as your needs evolve.
We accept a variety of payment methods for your convenience, including:
Payment is typically due at the time of each session. If you have any questions about billing or payment options, feel free to reach out.
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice or do not attend your scheduled session a cancellation fee of $100 will be charged.
This policy helps ensure that appointment times are respected for the therapist and available for others who may need them. We understand that emergencies happen, please reach out as soon as possible if something unexpected comes up.
We currently offer virtual appointments only. All sessions are conducted securely through a HIPAA-compliant video platform, allowing you to attend therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
Virtual therapy offers flexibility and convenience while maintaining the same level of care and confidentiality as in-person sessions. If you have questions about how virtual sessions work or need help getting set up, we’re happy to assist.
Yes, we are currently accepting new clients and typically able to schedule your first appointment within 24 hours of your initial inquiry.

We offer a free consultation so you can ask any questions and get a sense of how therapy with us works. It’s important that you feel comfortable and supported.
